Sub counts translate to income less directly than people expect. Pick your split and tier to see the realistic monthly figure.

The split applies to net, not sticker price
This is the detail that makes real payouts smaller than every estimate online. Twitch's standard 50/50 share is calculated on net revenue — after payment processing and platform costs — not on the $5.99 a viewer pays. So a 50% share is meaningfully less than $3.00 per sub, and the figures above should be read as an upper bound rather than a promise.
The Plus Program is the real lever
Qualifying streamers move to 60/40, and then 70/30 with enough Plus Points, for twelve months from qualifying. Points are weighted by tier — a Tier 1 sub is worth 1 point, Tier 2 is worth 2, Tier 3 is worth 6 — which means a handful of high-tier supporters move you toward the better split far faster than many Tier 1s. Prime subs are excluded from the enhanced rate. The old $100,000 cap on the 70/30 level was removed in January 2024, so it no longer resets on you for being successful.
Bits are simpler: partners receive one cent per Bit, with no split applied. Ads, sponsorships and merch sit entirely outside this calculation, and for most mid-sized streamers sponsorships eventually outgrow subs by a wide margin.
Questions
Why is my actual payout lower than this?
Because the split is applied to net revenue after processing costs, not the sticker price, and because Prime subs and mobile purchases carry different economics. Treat this as a ceiling.
How do I reach the 70/30 split?
The Plus Program requires 300+ Plus Points for three consecutive months, where Tier 1 subs count 1, Tier 2 counts 2 and Tier 3 counts 6. You also have to accept the Monetized Streamer Agreement before hitting the criteria, not after.
Do Prime subs count the same?
They count toward your sub total but are excluded from the enhanced Plus Program rates, so a channel heavy on Prime subs earns closer to the standard split than the calculator suggests.
