Working the goal backwards
Profit per sale is your average price times your average margin. Divide the monthly goal by that and you get required sales — and suddenly the goal has a shape. A $500 month at a $25 average sale and 30% margin is 67 sales: seventeen a week, two or three every single day. At a $60 average sale with the same margin it is 28 sales: one a day. Same goal, completely different businesses.
That comparison points at the two levers that actually move the requirement: average sale price and margin. Raising either cuts the required volume dramatically, which is why experienced sellers obsess over average order value — bundling, upsells, better items — while beginners obsess over listing more. Volume is the most expensive lever because it costs sourcing, photographing, listing, and shipping time on every single unit.

Should the goal be revenue or profit?
Profit. Revenue goals feel great and pay nothing — a $1,000 revenue month at 20% margin is $200 of actual money. This calculator works in profit so the answer is the one your bank account sees.
What margin number should I enter?
Your real blended average after fees and costs, not your best flip. If you don't know it, take last month's total profit divided by total revenue — that one division is worth doing before setting any goal.
The required sales number is impossible. Now what?
The math is telling you volume is not your route at current prices. Either raise the average sale (better items, bundles), raise margin (cheaper sourcing), extend the timeline, or shrink the goal. All four are more realistic than tripling your daily workload.
